Hi, I've recently upgraded to cable from 56k. I was wondering if I still need the 56k modem inside my computer now that I'm not using it.

Technically since your no longer using your 56k service there's no need for it. But I recommend you keep it in there in case your current cable provider goes down you still have backup internet, unless of course you need the slot for something else.

Techline, is right but after using cable for awhile you'll never want to use 56k again!
